Fascinating Mushroom Spores with Else Vellinga In-Person
Join Else Vellinga to explore the world of mushroom spores - where they are formed, how they are spread and where they want to end up. We’ll see why some spores are colored and others have warts. And we’ll learn other fascinating facts about mushrooms, such as their size and lifestyles.
Else Vellinga is a mycologist who is interested in naming and classifying mushroom species in California and beyond, especially Parasol mushrooms. She has described 22 species as new for California. She got her training at the national herbarium in the Netherlands, and her PhD at the university of Leiden. Else describes herself as a Dutch, cat-loving, knitting mycologist, who lives in Berkeley, CA.
