I Took the Lake Between my Legs--Women of a Certain Age Read Poems on Sex & Death In-Person

In her poem “Morning Swim,” Maxine Kumin defies societal expectations that sexuality is exclusively for the young. Here, five women poets in their mid-40s to late 60s—Kim Addonizio, Zeina Hashem Beck, Susan Browne, Danusha Laméris, and Julia Levine—will share frankly erotic work that refuses to be muted or mooted and makes a bulwark of bodily sensuality against death, time, and our aging selves.

Kim AddonizioKim Addonizio is the author of nine poetry collections, two novels, two story collections, and two craft books, The Poet’s Companion (with Dorianne Laux) and Ordinary Genius. Her latest poetry collection is Exit Opera (W.W.
