About the Play:

The Cherry Orchard
By Anton Chekhov, translated by Paul Schmidt

Carey Perloff, who helmed last season’s wildly successful production of Waste, returns to direct Chekhov’s final work. Set at the turn of the 20th century, an aristocratic matriarch returns home to her family’s debt-laden estate. Desperate to preserve their way of life and ignore the changing times, the family resists solutions to the impending auction of their house and beautiful cherry orchard.
This play is recommended for ages 12 and up.
