After Hours: Ken Yager

After Hours: Ken Yager In-Person

Join us for an evening with Ken Yager, legendary climber and founder of the Yosemite Climbing Association. With 54 years of climbing experience, Ken has shaped the climbing world through the Yosemite Facelift, Ask A Climber program, and the Yosemite Climbing Museum.

Hear firsthand about his remarkable 30+ year journey to establish a permanent climbing history exhibit in Yosemite Valley, and immerse yourself in colorful tales from a life spent scaling cliffs and chasing dreams. From wild adventures like the infamous 1977 airplane crash to conserving peregrine falcon nests on El Capitan, Ken's stories are as awe-inspiring as the granite walls of Yosemite itself.

Whether you’re a climbing enthusiast or just curious about Yosemite’s rich history, this is an evening you won’t want to miss. Bring your questions for a lively, interactive conversation!

Ken Yager began climbing at the age of 12 alongside UC Davis professors in Physics and Engineering. By 13, a glimpse of El Capitan sparked a lifelong passion for Yosemite. After graduating high school, he dedicated himself to climbing and preserving the Valley’s legacy.

Now residing in Mariposa, Ken continues to share his knowledge and passion through the Yosemite Climbing Museum, located at the 4-way stop in town.
