Star Party in Hauke Park

Star Party in Hauke Park In-Person

Join the Mill Valley Public Library and Marin Stargazers for a night of stargazing in Hauke Park South! Peek through the library's circulating Orion Starblast 4.5 inch reflector telescope, our brand new StarSense Explorer telescope, and telescopes provided by Marin Stargazers volunteers. On March 8th, we’ll have at least four planets to view including elusive Mercury, brilliant Venus, Jupiter the king of planets and red Mars, which is in a conjunction with the Moon that night. Plus some fascinating double stars including Almach and Castor, and the great constellation of Orion.  Weather permitting, we'll aim the telescopes at the planets as well as the moon and some other interesting starry sights.

Feel free to park by the public restrooms at 1 Hamilton Drive, next to the police station. The telescopes will be set up in Hauke Park South, a few steps from the parking lot. Feel free to drop in any time between 6:15-8:15pm. All ages are welcome at our star party. Make sure to dress warm!
