Humanoid Robots: Friend, Foe, or the Future?

Humanoid Robots: Friend, Foe, or the Future? In-Person

Ever wondered what it’s like to have a robot as a co-worker, caregiver, or even a companion? Curious about a future where humanoid robots move from sci-fi to reality?

AI Expert Bridget Burke leads a thoughtprovoking conversation with Humanoid Robotics specialist Anna Roumiantseva, Co-Founder of Skip, to explore the fast-approaching future where robots become co-workers, caregivers, and companions. She will examine the exciting possibilities, ethical dilemmas, and potential risks that come with integrating humanoid robotics into our daily lives.

Experience the future firsthand as Roumiantsevas demonstrates MO/GO™, a groundbreaking robotic-powered wearable for humans. Developed in collaboration with Arc'teryx, MO/GO™ enhances mobility and reduces joint strain, empowering people to move beyond their physical limits. Named one of Time Magazine’s Best Innovations of 2024, this innovation highlights how robotics is already improving lives today.

From robots that could care for us in old age to those that might build our cities—or even replace us at work—the future is closer than you think, and it’s stepping into your life with metal feet.

Door open at 6:30 for pre-registered guests. At 6:45, people are let in first come, first served. This event is for adults and high school students only.

About SKIP

Skip is building "movewear" - lightweight wearable robotics that support you as you move about your day. They're building a technology platform that can sense how you're moving in real-time, anticipate what kind of support you'll need next, and provide that support with lightweight yet powerful motors - all integrated into comfortable, easy-to-use clothing that you can't wait to put on in the morning. Skip's vision is a world where nobody is left behind and they believe there's no reason wearable robotics can't look and feel as simple and approachable as a pair of pants.
