Trans Day of Visibility Open Mic Featuring Mason Deaver In-Person

The Mill Valley Library presents an open mic night in honor of Transgender Day of Visibility! Join us at the library for an evening of creativity and community (and free snacks!), featuring a keynote reading and discussion with Mason Deaver, author of acclaimed YA novels I Wish You All the BestOkay, CupidThe Ghosts We Keep and more. Whether you have a poem, short story, or piece of music to share (or if you'd like to hear the words and music of your community) all are welcome at this free, all ages event.

To sign up to perform, please register below and check the checkbox. The time limit for performers is 3 minutes, and spaces are limited! If you'd like to attend but not perform, please also register below.

Transgender Day of Visibility is an annual international celebration on March 31st celebrating transgender people and their accomplishments and contributions to their communities.

Mason Deaver is a bestselling and award-winning young-adult and romance writer. Their books have received starred reviews from Booklist and Publisher’s Weekly, have been nominated for the Goodreads Choice Award, and won the Pink News' Best Young Adult Book award, as were included on Cosmopolitan's 100 Best YA Books! Their first novel, I Wish You All the Best, was adapted into a film directed by Tommy Dorfman, it premiered at the 2024 South by Southwest Film Festival. They currently call San Francisco home.
