Partial Solar Eclipse Viewing Party in Hauke Park In-Person
Join the Mill Valley Library in Hauke Park to view the partial solar eclipse on April 8th with a solar telescope and free eclipse glasses! Though the eclipse will begin to be visible starting at 10:14am, our viewing party will begin at 10:30am to catch maximum solar coverage of 44% at 11:13 am. Join us for learning, crafts, and fun for all ages!
Never look at the sun directly with your naked eye, as it can result in serious eye damage. At this event, the telescopes and eclipse glasses have specialized filters to ensure safe viewing of the sun. Avoid using regular or polarized sunglasses, smoked glass, exposed film, medical X-rays, or homemade filters, as they are unsafe and can cause eye damage. Not able to make our eclipse party? Pick up free eclipse glasses at the library's reference desk (2 pairs per household, while supplies last).
Parking may be limited, but some spaces may be available by the public restrooms at 1 Hamilton Drive, next to the police station. The telescopes will be set up in Hauke Park South, a few steps from the parking lot.
