NaNoWriMo: Fiction Writing Workshop

NaNoWriMo: Fiction Writing Workshop In-Person

The opening of a novel is a literary gateway that holds the power to either draw readers in with irresistible intrigue or leave them disinterested and disconnected. It serves as the initial impression, setting the tone and establishing the narrative's promise. A well-crafted opening not only introduces the main characters and the world they inhabit but also hints at the central conflicts and themes that will unfold. In this workshop, we will discuss what a reader wants to know in an opening and how to get your character on their journey. We will also explore effective techniques for crafting engaging and compelling openings that captivate your audience from the very first page. This program is free but seats are limited. Registration is required.
