Intro to Home Recording: Part II - Processing and Editing In-Person / Online

Maybe you're bursting with musical talent. Maybe you have the idea for the next great podcast. Maybe you don't need fame and fortune at all, but just love tinkering with synthesizers or composing bedroom pop nobody will hear. Home recording is for you!

Gone are the days when your only choices to record were a ludicrously expensive studio versus a hissy multitrack tape recorder. With the power of today's fancy computers (or even tablets and phones!) you can record professional-quality voiceovers, vocals, and instruments, then make use of unlimited tracks, non-destructive editing, and a vast range of audio plugins to tune, customize, and sweeten your sound.

In Part II, register to attend to learn about what to do with your audio once you've captured it. Dynamics, EQ, reverbs, processing of all kinds! We'll also cover editing in a Digital Audio Workstation. Your instructor, Digital Services Librarian Franklin Walther, has been home recording for over twenty years, which must be impossible because he's so young!

This event is hybrid. If you can't make in person, join us via Zoom (link provided when you register).
