After three long years, we’re back! Celebrate the return of Naked Truth, our true, live, storytelling program, with the amazing Josh Healey as emcee. Our impressive lineup of storytellers includes: Don Reed, Glynn Washington, Dhaya Lakshminarayanan and Harriett Jernigan.  Audience members can drop their name in a hat to tell a one-minute story in the Lightning Round.

Registration highly recommended.
Adults and high school students only! Free wine reception at 6:30pm for pre-registered guests. Waitlist line opens up at 6:45 on a first come, first served basis. 

ThumbnailJosh Healey is an award-winning writer, performer, filmmaker, and creative activist. He is lead writer and executive producer of The North Pole, an acclaimed political comedy web series about gentrification, global warming, and gluten-free donuts. As a poet, comedian, storyteller, and event host, Healey has performed at poetry slams, comedy clubs, world-class opera houses, and other venues. Healey is the Culture Shift Director for Movement Generation, producing innovative shows, comedic videos, and creative interventions from the frontlines of the climate justice movement in the Bay Area and beyond.

 

ThumbnailDon Reed (NBC, Snap Judgment, HBO) is an award-winning storyteller/actor/writer/director best known for his revealing solo show East 14th. He has appeared on Comedy Central, CBS, the feature films Hollywood Shuffle, Unleashed, and the Amazon Prime series Bartlett with Lin Manuel Miranda creator of Broadway phenom Hamilton. He currently has an inspiring one-man multi-media show running at the Marsh Berkeley entitled "The Never Too Late Show" that features classic footage from The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson, The National Comedy Center Museum and much, much more. 

 

ThumbnailGlynn Washington is the host, creator and executive producer of Snap Judgment. The radio show and podcast mixes real stories with killer beats to produce cinematic, dramatic radio. Before Snap Judgment, Glynn worked as an educator, diplomat, community activist, actor, political strategist, fist-shaker, mountain-hollerer, and foot stomper. Glynn composed music for the Kunst Stoff dance performances in SF, rocked live spoken word poetry in Detroit, joined a band in Indonesia, wrote several screenplays, painted a daring series of self-portraits, released a blues album, and thinks his stories are best served with cocktails.

 

ThumbnailDhaya Lakshminarayanan is a stand-up comedian, storyteller, and writer. Her debut album DHAYATRIBE debuted #2 on iTunes. She received the Liz Carpenter Political Humor Award for her stand-up comedity. She has performed across Asia, in Shanghai, Kuala Lumpur, and Singapore. As a television host, Dhaya helmed the inaugural season of the Emmy award-winning High School Quiz show on PBS’s WGBH. She currently serves as the host of the San Francisco’s monthly Moth. 

 

 

ThumbnailHarriett Jernigan teaches writing and rhetoric at Stanford University and lives to tell stories. She has performed at The Moth Grand Slam and other events in the Bay Area and abroad. Harriett earned her B.A. in creative writing at the University of Alabama, where she also learned to play a mean game of darts. Because of a wild set of circumstances, Harriett has lived and worked in Germany and Austria more times than she should admit.
